Juniper Crescent - Tony Graff

Goodreads Synopsis
Oksanya has been given the gift of a lifetime in the miraculous Isis operation, which replaced defective genes in her body with the genes of a cheetah. She can run faster and see better than everyone else in the world. Everyone else, however, is split on what to do with Oksanya. Many believe she has sold her humanity for the cure. The rest think she has improved her life and her species.

Review
First off, I really enjoyed reading this novel. The ideas within it were really well developed and I found myself in a new world where an operation creates people with the qualities of animals to better themselves. I found our protagonist Oksanya was perhaps the most likable Isis in the novel. This is because she seems to be the only one who has taken this operation to cure herself of a disease, all the others seem to be very vain people who just want to stand out. And some for the wrong reasons.

Oksanya is a teenage girl and we see all her torments and gifts as she goes through the Isis process, I felt Graff did this amazingly well and I could almost imagine how she was feeling all the way through the novel. I found myself sympathising with her character quite a lot due to the unfair things that had gone wrong within her life. As we delve more into Oksanya's life we reveal more to why she is the way she is and how both her and her father are coping with their lives.

This novel seemed to be building up and building up all the way through up until the final action part, although the novel finished very well overall I wish Graff had spent that little bit longer on the action at the end so I could really get my teeth (excuse the pun) into what was going on. Other than that the novel really was a good read and I found myself finishing it in one sitting.

From my guest post with Tony you can see there are going to be sequels to this novel and I can't wait, now all the characters are really well developed we might be able to see more into the Isis drama and how they cope with the world around them.

Be sure to enter the giveaway Tony is hosting on the blog which can be found with his author post here. An enjoyable read for you to get your hands on here!!!
