Wishlist
Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week
that is on our wishlist, that we reallllly want to get! Hosted
by the lovely Dani at Pen to Paper.
This week my Wishlist Wednesday is...
Miranda’s disbelief
turns to fear in a split second when a meteor knocks the moon closer to
the earth. How should her family prepare for the future when worldwide
tsunamis wipe out the coasts, earthquakes rock the continents, and
volcanic ash blocks out the sun? As summer turns to Arctic winter,
Miranda, her two brothers, and their mother retreat to the unexpected
safe haven of their sunroom, where they subsist on stockpiled food and
limited water in the warmth of a wood-burning stove.
Told in
journal entries, this is the heart-pounding story of Miranda’s struggle
to hold on to the most important resource of all--hope--in an
increasingly desperate and unfamiliar world.
I've
only just recently come across this book but I think it sounds like a good read, I really like the idea of it being recorded in diary entries and after the end of the world didn't come around last year I think this might be quite a refreshing read. Miranda seems like quite a strong protagonist, its also nice to see a book taking place at the moment of change rather than dystopian fiction where everything is already settled (but not in a good way)
What's on your wishlist this week?

This one sounds really good! I can't wait to see what you think! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading! :)

I've had this book on my bookshelf for ages - I really need to pick it up. I've heard great things about it, though, so I hope we both enjoy it :)
